You have posted 2 same posts already, this is higly frowned upon on this forum and if you do not stop it, it will be dealt with appropriately.

First of all, why would we subscribe?
You bought el-cheapo "100mW" green laser from DealExtreme or Focalprice or some other site,
Second, you really think it's outputing 100mW?
Guess again.

How about you maybe went to "Welcome" section, introduced yourself, shown us what you do and how much you know,

Instead, you think you are the greatest guy for having one green pen?

Here is how a proper 100mW green laser looks like
YouTube - 100mW Green laser and Diffraction grating

BTW, it's mW (mili Watt), not Mw.
Common mistake... among noobs.

How could you not get irritated by a guy saying :
OOh I has laser, now you all subscribe to me

C'mon dude. The guy just wants attention. Does he deserve any?

It was bothering me as well, he didnt even post anything worth while or worth anyone's time, just some crappy video of a crappy underspec laser popping two balloons. Then asks people to subscribe to his channel. There is nothing worth subscribing to IMO, and really I would advise people reading this not to even watching the video, I can think of alot better things to do with that time...

Yeah, watch my video

Just kidding. Seriously, why would anybody think one single video on youtube is worth subscribing?
And even two threads identical, to 'advertise' it.

Perhaps this dude does not get that we handle much more powerful lasers also.

It is true that great majority of people are unfamiliar with anything but typical 3*LR33 bullet-type crap, and even laugh at you when you tell there are other color lasers, and lasers powerful enough to burn stuff.

So maybe he just got one and thinks he is the first one to get such laser.

Perhaps I can explain something to the guy:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/my-two-matching-sets-heavy-picz-50428.html

Each and every one of those capable of permanently blinding you in a microsecond, and 5 of them will nicely smoke anything dark you point them at.
Even managed to smoke off some black anodization with 230mW red.

Also, OP does not know what underspec means.
It means the laser is outputting less than advertised.
50mW of optical power is enough to pop a baloon.

And it is rare to find more than 100mW of actual output in any DX laser.

DIY FTW.

Ehm, I see some similarities between me and this guy. I know lot of electronics (technician, repair center) but i have no idea about real life products, the same way as this guy. I´ll try to say something about me in proper thread, cause I´m getting to feel shamed. Hope to get really good laser on your advices :)

I´m reffering to gadikatan. Now I see some of my mistakes, wanting to solve them, and wanting to get some decent laser you are talking about guys(Output just over 100mW of power), not being crappy laser noob. I guess it will take me few months to find money for this, but after some months with my crappy 50mW china pen, I still want it.

Now, some offtopic.
Everytime I go for some help, I´m thinking about one thing – If people are just buying some high priced (higher quality) stuff to make some difference line between them – The good, The Gods, and the noobs, just to match into some nerd group.
Everytime I see the group, they are like WoooW, Great lasers, just cutting hands of!, or WoooW great speakers, just breaking windows from the sound power 50 feet far! (I´m in this one), or so. That´s hella funny. I guess, there is waste count of companies profiting from this new phenomenom. And I still have a question – is this worth? To have some real awesome thing, and talk about it with friends, or phorum colegues, and enjoy some fun from it, or there is some higher purpose? Just thinking...

Is there some more fun and gegs to do with a laser than:
Burning a match
Cutting and melting materials because of cutting or melting...
Showing stars formations?

Well, first thing you have to understand that this is a hobby, it requires commitment.

For example, you also have a group of computer modders for example.
You spend hunderds of dollars on modification on your computer case. Sure it looks badass but what difference does it make on the sole purpose of a computer?
It ain't running any faster!

Or RC community - flying plastic toys.

But it's enthusiasm that makes you running!

You obviously did not light any matches and burned any tape with lasers.
If you had - you would not ask such questions.

However, if you had, and it does not fascinate you, it's simply not your hobby.

Lasers are fun , without logical explanation.
Some people enjoy building RC models, some like modding computers.
None of that has actual practical aplication.

But it's fun, and because you like it - you do it.

That what having a hobby is all about. Doing someting in your life.

I find building lasers exeptionally fun, you learn something every day,
I enjoy seeing myself capable of building stuff that nobody in immediate sorrounding ever heard of.

Hobby is a hobby. Either you got enthusiasm for it, ir you don't.

You gotta do something in your life.

This is different

I did computers a bit. It was because I needed high quality computer for lower price, I needed to know I´m doing good on myself. Typical Computer seller is not gonna tell you what´s really best for you. So i was keen on computers, and now I have strong overclocked machine, you cannot hear even at night sleeping. (Todays, its gettng weak. It´s only dual core AMD....)That´s why I went to the PC nerd phorum.

I do some electronics and audio. I´m going to make some money from it – bought big professional speakers and amplyfiers and stuff for 4000$ (two and half years saving money) to make some parties, etc...

The same about Photography. I just learned much from that people. Not only which machine to buy, but how to use it on its full potential, how to make good photos. Now I know this camera I´ve bought will serve me for long long years.

The laser is not the same. You don´t study lasers because you need to do something with them. You just need to do some fun, to play with it. I still don´t know if I really want it. It is just an awesome toy for me. Everytime it was... I loved that 1-5mW chinese lasers for 5$-10$ in my school years. Is it the same for you?
I´m sure I will use it happily, but for how long....

Who says that money can't be made from lasers?

Dude, if you do not like it, then it's not your hobby.
It's not about practical application , it's about building it.

And I did not say for hardware, I was reffering to case modding about computers. You know, installign plexi windows, nean lamps, water cooling GITD pipes with UV lamps, god knows what not.

Looks nice and you made it. I see no other reason for building it.

Same with lasers. I like them , and I like building them. Only that is enough to keep me building.

If you cannot understand that, then I'm sorry, it's not your thing.

A hobby is a hobby.

Once you make your own boost converter, solder it to the pressfited diode, encase it in a C6 host and power everything up - then you can say that it's not your thing.
But I guarantee that you won't.

Building something from a host and a box of components, something worth selling and admiring, is awsome.

That sounds much better for me. I like building – the same way as in other electronics. Maybe that´s the way I should go. I´m a bit scared of devastating this “expensive stuff”. I was not able to dismount the china one (ended with devastation, because I could not get the lasermodule out of the casing (glued) ) so it left some unsure mood in me…
Yes, I´m going to study this forum more to see what I like. THX for good discussion, I´ll keep tuned and keep on working.

Now that's the spirit!

Don't worry about breaking stuff.
That is why this forum is here.
I am betting that your laser was new wish style pen, right?
You could have asked anybody here how to disassemble it, it is very easy, much easier than you think. And there is no glue in it.

This is like, 5th or 6th commend about difficulties in disassembling new wish style pens (the ones that screw apart in the middle).

Perhaps I should make a video tutorial to show how easy it is.
You only need a vice, pliers, and some paper tissues.

No marks or sctrachings left, nothing destroyed.

If you ever need help about apsolutely anything, feel free to ask me via PM. I always have time to help out ;)

As long as you keep your positive attitude, things won't be as difficult as you can imagine them.

Heh. I just watched “some youtube vid about disassembly, and some texts here” where some guy just said something similar to another guy – “there is no way to do it bad, go on, you can….You do this, and this, and that’s it” So it inspired me to disassemble mine. The guide did not match to my model propably ) This is the skeptic side…
But I guess if I buy some special set, many times reviewed here, I will be ok with it.
THX once again.
