Re: My green laser pointer Not Brun Nothing!

Geeech guys, don't you know that's so he can turn his monitor around and use the back side

Wow, I never thought of that. Sort of like how we used to turn paper over to write on the other
side.

BTW, whoever is changing the tags deserves a rep.

You do realise we can check your IP Address?

Also, FallOutFighter.. You have obviously never heard of the NDB7A75.. It's going to be one of my next build's and i hope to get AT LEAST 5000mW out of it.

Sorry I just meant on retail sites. Like you're not going to find a legit 5w laser on AliExpress.

And you fell for it?

How long have you lurked this board before buying the laser? I'm betting some time between a week and nothing, or else you would've realized the seller was lying.

If you're too lazy to read past messages, I'll try to explain it here, using the simplest words I can: because those laser pointers use infrared diodes to hit a crystal and cause it to emit green laser light, at about 1/3 of the power. In short, they are inefficient. A 5W green laser would mean a hypothetical diode that emits a 15W infrared beam, which is completely impossible to contain in a host that small. It would also be far more expensive, and it would even require a fan for cooling.
Even diodes that emit green light directly are way too weak to reach that kind of power, and had you actually spent time to learn the theory before parting from your money, you would know that!

As i said, you don't even have to combine beam's...

Also, SL do have that diode in a bundle for sale... Survival Laser 5 445nm Parts Bundle

And im pretty sure they are a retail site?

Very true about those diodes, however they achieve that by firing slightly over their max and even drive limited and heatsinked will burn out rather quickly which I personally don't enjoy having to replace a $500 diode. :D

Do you own or build lasers?? Because if you did you would know that "most" of the diodes we use are over driven. A m140 diode isn't rated for 2W+ but guess what.. We have m140 lasers producing over 2W's!

And to add to your statement, SL aren't driving them "slightly" higher.. they are diven ALOT higher! Those NDB7A75's are rated 3.5W and we are driving them at 4A for outputs well over 5400mW. Even so you can easily drive them at 3.6A and get 5W pretty safely.. Just because something is over driven does not mean that you will have diodes dying. I have a M140 laser that is driven at 2.4A (2.6W+) and it hasn't died in almost 2 years!

Also, that NDB7A75 diode is only $300.

Anyway the original statement was..

There is no handheld 5000mw laser in existence and if their was it would cost thousands of dollars.

I was just pointing out how incredibly wrong that statement was. That's all.

Exactly. I do believe the most powerful direct emitting green diode(520nm) peaks at around 1W, please correct me if im wrong. If you click the link below you can see how expensive they are.

They actually "peak" around 1500mW at about 2.7-2.8A. Now if you got two of those in a host driven that high you would have a 3000mW 520nm... :D
For only around $1500 total.. Diodes/host/drivers/optics included.

Optical losses. Nothing is 100% efficient. You'll be lucky to get over 2.8W :p

i am buy Laser From Here
and its Say 5000MW.

Please Help Me.

You am buy laser?!?! OH EM GEE we can help!

I can not increase power?

power increase you cannot!

Where can I buy a laser that burns things from reliable?

for laser burning things of reliable, please see www.gtfo.com

Also, if you guys haven't already, look at the thread tags. Whoever changed them gets in internet high five!

I don't think he's an idiot.

I think he's knows what he's doing. I clearly stated last time that he shouldn't spam and gave posting "cool" on someones build as an example, which is exactly what he did this time.
