Hello!

I'm new to this forum, nice to meet you...

I recently purchased the 200mW Focusable Laser Torch from Rayfoss (150usd). It is a great laser, very powerful!

But I noticed that the beam doesn't come out right from the center of the aperture. I mean that the beam is not totally vertical to the front aperture plate. Instead, it comes out in a very slight angle...

Is this normal? Should I take it back, using the warranty?

Please help! I will try to post a picture later...

This is normal. DPSS sytle lasers like the green one you have contain many different optical elements in which the light must pass thru before it leaves the laser, so a slightly off center beam is very common and almost unavoidable.

Mine does the same, also many of the green lasers I've had also do the same, so I wouldn't really care.

This is the feedback from Rayfoss engineer:
"It's a kind of normal situation of this focusable laser since the beam will go out through 2 pcs lens not like the fixed lasers just throung 1pcs lens. When the bearm go by the sencond lens it will go away from the axis slightly.So the beam is not eacactly 90dgc with the aperture. But we are also finding way in our following design to overcome this..."

So I guess it's normal. I only worry that this angle variation will not change more in the future...

I didn't pay anything either. And I ordered only one piece.
