Hi,
Ok, I accidentally clicked on Laserpointerpro's link from Near the LPF Google search line...I am sure many have seen the add for "50% off" right there next to the Google search line on every LPF page...so, here I am looking at some pretty nice looking lasers and then I come across a "1000mW green" for $219. I am skeptical as should anyone be but I decide, what the heck...I bought one knowing ot wouldn't be anywhere near 1w. Before I purchased I spoke with one of their agents and they agreed that if I received the laser and it measured 10% off they would accept it for a full refund. To be honest, I would keep it even if it measured 400-500mW as $219 would be a great deal for even that.
Here's the link to what I bought:
1000mW 532nm High-power Green Laser Pointer with free Protective Glasses at Laserpointerpro.com
It arrived in the mail today and to be honest, it is a very well built, solid, once looking device. Everything was included in a nice aluminum carry case...goggles, keys, battery, etc...
It has a very solid feel and the on/off function is very nice...turn the key and the button lights up blue, click once and it stays on until a second click.
My first impression was in broad daylight down my hallway...very bright and visible beam in a moderately lighted hallway...ok, I'm impressed....pointed it to my bare leg at about two feet....start to feel a sting at two seconds, unbearable at five or six.....not bad.
I have a Laserbee USB 2.5 on it's way, ordered a couple of days ago. Soon I will have some data for y'all.
I can and will post some pics and beam shots soon as well but, it looks exactly as the one in the ad.
So far I am pleased with my $219 purchase. I know it's not going to meter out to one watt but I knew that going into it....maybe 300-400? We will soon find out. I look forward to tonight when it's really dark and clear...I think it will be impressive.
Check back in a day or two and I will have some Laserbee data and pictures if you're interested.
Cheers,
Jeff
