I can't recall exactly, but I seem to remember the Pyxis being the PGL-III-A lasers with the interlock on the side of the battery cap (sold as Nova Alphas now). If so, with enough force you can unscrew the can at the top, and from there you can set out to remove everything. Its a bit difficult to get it all out and back into place without messing something up though, so you may want to proceed with caution. What's wrong with the button if you don't mind me asking?

Warranty is over. And the problem with the button is that is not making good contact, sometimes theres no contact and laser will not glow

Hmm, well don't just tear into it right away. Also, try contacting LaserGlow and see what the repair cost would be. I just wouldn't want to chance something like that.

have you tried emailing? but i guess they don't make the lasers themselves so it is probably reasonable. and if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself i'm sure that there is someone that is a bit more confident that will fix it for you for dirt cheap.

the front cap is so tight that it looks like one whole piece. And yes it has the interlock in the battery cap,and also a key for safety.

Lserglow is vary lazy in answering emails, but thats what the do.The company is in Canada.

Also, as a larger companies they have priorities that don't include small time hobbyists. Or they could just be bogged down. But I say follow what Pseudo said, I don't really know anything about that style of laser casing.

if these are the same as nova alphas, perhaps nova would be willing to repair it for a reasonable fee? i'm pretty sure they do some repairs.

That's my biggest gripe about the RPL. Crap switch.

Forget the plunger switch and rotary dial on the end! Give it a UI like HDS/Novatac! Now THAT would be a truly programmable laser!

Hmmmm SOS mode with 350mW...now that could be useful. Triple click = 10 mW. Press and hold = 400. etc. I don't think the locator flash will be necessary. ;D

Best of all it would be a cinch to make waterproof!

Yes, it is a PGL-III-A which is just a larger version of the GLP-I (aka CNI black/gold, aka viper, aka x series, etc). The pump and crystal are standard for these lasers, doesn't really do anything to help your problem though. If you really want to get into it, you will need to unscrew the front where you see the line in the body. It takes a bit of force perhaps, but its the first in a series of increasingly difficult steps if you plan on remedying it yourself :-/

Pictures, and a LITTLE bit more description would be well advised if you are expecting any kind of assistance here ! What TYPE of laser ? Brand ? power ? Make ? etc ? You gotta give some details - not just, " my lazorz busted - fix it, thnks"

Short descriptions do not help at all.
