Hi I didn't found anything about this, So I opened a new thread the question is this, I have a 30mw green laser module and 1 300 (about) mw IR 808 laser diode, I would know: Can I put the 300 mw IR 808 laser diode instead of the one Who is into the green laser module to upgrade the power of my 30 mw green laser pointer???thank you all for your Help and sorry for my newby question..

there probably already is a 300mW IR diode in that module.

If it is a press fit diode, it is very difficult to replace the diode with a new one, the diode needs to be perfectly aligned with the crystals. Putting a bigger diode into a crystal set designed for a weaker IR diode is also not good. It is possible to oversaturate and destroy the crystals.

So, in short, no. It is not a good idea.

If this was easily "doable", you would find LOTS of info about it.

The apparent lack of info is NOT proof that it has not been talked about. ;)

It is probably proof that you have not searched hard enough or in a skilled enough fasion.

When dealing with anything that is mass produced or has been around awhile (like simple green pointers from China) , there are probably multiple threads about it here.

Don't give up because your first or second search didn't get you exactly what you want. Learn to use the advanced search function to narrow your search. Also try putting "similar" search terms in to get different but similar results.

Finally, this forum is also indexed by Google. You can search within results in Google to get more focused hits.

Dave--that is a great answer... and it is the right path for many other similar questions as well. Like many other things--If at first you do not succeed try- try and try again.---hak
