It seems kind of pointless to review a laser if you don't have a power meter...

"It's..pretty bright, I guess."
"But is it over 95mW?
"Well, it's brighter than my Radioshack red pointer..."

That's true Justin.
But seriously, 3 secs to light a match is a LONG time for '95mW' right?

It all depends on the power density, color of the laser, color of the target, and how steady you can hold it. If it were a white match, and the person wielding the laser were a bit more than tipsy, you might be there a while :D :D LOL

The diameter of the beam is a huge factor as well. I can light a non-sharpied safety match almost instantly with my X105 from 20 inches away. A white match is a no go...

Really Gazoo? Using my DIY red I cal light white matches all day long if the focus is right, but I've never been able to light a red match.
Wait, the X105 is a greenie isn't it? I'd bet a green would eat red matches.
Again, just what I was saying...if the target absorbs the wavelength you're sending it, it will heat up. And if the power density is high enough, the target will burn. To get a higher power density from the same power output, you just have to focus it to a smaller spot.

I can light a non-sharpied red safety match easily with my red labby. My record so far is 8 feet, but this is with TEC and 350ma's. The safety match will light easily using a GB diode, 160ma's....about a foot to two feet away.
