I have $200, should I get the Viper 95mw ?

I have read excellent reviews on dragon lasers, all positive.. So I think the best greenie to go with is the viper 95mw.. I just have to sell my Tmaxx 3.3

well if you want a good 95mw power go for dragonlasers but if you want try rayfoss at 98$ you will get a waterproof 150mw greenie or try o-like

these are sweetunits they are cni's i have a infinity 95 and a nova x100
my nova puts out a steady 124 mw my infinity about 105 great pen units period

Hi Sam,
Maybe you should try our Optotronics 150mw pen,($196) it doesn't have the fancy case some of the others have, but I promise it's output power is a "real" 150mw of 532nm and divergence / beam quality will kick butt on any others out there.

Whatever laser you choose make sure that is temperature controlled. Rather go for 100mw with a TEC than a 150mw pen type laser. I've had much experience with these pen type lasers and the power fluctuates enormously. Also you cant leave it on for extended periods. $200 will definitely get you a TEC controlled 100mw+ greenie. These would have modulation too. A few more mw of green is not always the best option.

Why would you want TEC in a handheld 100-150mW? A good heatsink would be more than enough.
People always seem to go overkill with cooling, in laser scanners too. I saw a guy with 6 * 80mm fans to cool a scanner system which was already fully heatsinked and in an aluminium case.. waste of power, space and money.
I agree with a pen style laser not being a good choice for more than 50mW if you want stability, but TEC is only really needed when they are 200mW and above IMO, and that would still only be if you wanted a unit which could be used in a scanner.
