Hey,
I have a very very bright green laser burner. just by looking at the dot hearts my eyes.
I put on goggles a lot when using it.
to light up matches, I need to postition the match in the focal point of the beam, and it works. problem is, when I put on the safty goggles I can't see the beam at all! :tired:
and whenever I use goggles and try to position the match it doesn't work..
what do I do?

Put a non flammable dark colored Beam stop behind the match
near the focal point.
Then you can see the Beam Dot to align the match...

BTW if your laser is >5mW... you should ALWAYS be wearing
your Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses when it is "ON"..

With goggles you can't see the beam, but you can see the dot. Just put the match where the dot is smallest and there you go.

What is non flameable dark colored beam stop? Where can I get on, and how can I know the focal point with goggles?

You must always wear the safety glasses but you can align the beam looking through a camera of a mobile phone :)

We use a Brushed Black Anodized 1/8" thick piece of aluminum
at an angle from perpendicular to the Laser's beam...

The beam spot is bright enough to see through appropriate
Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses.
The focal point is the smallest diameter that you can adjust
your Laser's focus..
