How big should the dot be at ~30ft?

on a average green laser pointer how big should the dot be at roughly 30ft? I say green because it seems red laser pointers seems to stay a small dot while at the same distance green lasers are much bigger. the red lasers dot is about the size a BB at ~30 ft while every green laser I tested are about the size of my thumb nail. is this normal? BTW the red one is a very nice red one I got when I was about 8 years old for ~$50 or something like that so it may just be a really nice red laser with great divergence. it's really heavy for it's size and the tip seems to be lead or something like that.
