HJ-A88 doesn't light matches.

Hello,
Few days ago I bought HJ A88. In internet I saw videos like people light match with this laser in few seconds. I've got the finnest beam and when I try to light the match I only see smoke and no fire. I tried to colour match black. Any ideas?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4SfW_RDT7c Did you try moving in closer and closer to the match like in this video? Try another type of match if that doesn't work, assuming you have it focused as best you can. Is there a strike area on the match box? Sorry, bad joke.

Did you try striking it against fine sandpaper? I hear that lights matches very well.

In all seriousness though, if you've got it to the finest point and you colored the match black then you just don't have enough power for the job.

Some matches have some kind of coating on them and are much harder to light. Glad you figured that out. Now don't get the laser close enough to the match that the smoke or ignition particles ruin the lens. The lens is plastic and is VERY easy to destroy.
Also the only eyeballs you have are taking a hit if you are not wearing the appropriate glasses

how many mW is it supposed to be? sounds like its a weak laser to me..
