^^ Hmm not many planes flying at 50 - 100 m altitude over cities, and especially larger cities with tall buildings, like Berlin...:tinfoil:

Edit: Ive changed the height to 30 - 50 m. It was very difficult to tell the height with the sky as a backdrop, but the beam passed between some of the taller buildings.

 That beam travels high up in the sky  It dosen't only travel 50m haha!

Anyway, it isn't really safe to be shining that in the middle of a city.

I think you misread what I wrote.;) The beam was parallel to the ground and around 50 m up!

Indeed :)
I would say even 25-30 meters above the street and was parallel to the ground... At first it looks like the beam shines towards the sky, but actually not. :gh:

Another true fact... Planes are flying with low altitude only when they are about to land and I can tell you, that the airports are pretty far away almost outside of the city and where I was it's nearly the center of the city. :)

And what about birds, plastic bags... passing through the beam?
It would blind a lot of people, we are talking about 10W of power.

Yeah what about 100 meteors passing the beam would be really dangerous for the birds sitting in the plastic bags.
Think it it over we are talking about already endangered city bird species!

Nothing against you, but it was for sure officially checked for that also the beam is FAR away from any car or observer so even if one unlucky bird passes that beam for maybe 1/4 sec the reflection would spread to almost nothing. Also is the beam not really in the field of view of those drivers.
Safety is important for sure but at this point just enjoy this great beam.

p.s. I wish I had seen this in real life :D thx Laws for the vid

Eh, at that kind of power, the birds wouldn't have a single chance if they come across the laser beam of that magnitude of optical power, and the plastic bag wouldn't have enough time to reflect bulk of laser light (the bag's flammable so you can say whatever happens would be quick).

EDIT: Some club owners doesn't understand the laser warning and wouldn't care, so not surprised about that. However, there are who do understand and respect the warning - 10 Watts will blind anybody instantly, within microseconds due to optical power, so anybody who can read the warning will treat it like a cannon.
