I'm looking for a couple of reasonably priced green goggles. I have two pair of blues OD4, but they're limit is at 530nm according to their literature. I'm looking at getting something in the 100-200mw range in 532nm. If anyone has suggestions of where I can get some of these reasonably priced, it would be much appreciated.

I don't mind getting cheap goggles from someone, assuming that they have been tested to perform between a laser and LPM. I know some members here have done that, but I couldn't find the thread.

Admin: not sure if this is best in green or safety??

I agree entirely there, this laser is supposed to be IR filtered, but I'd rather not risk it since most of the energy for unfiltered greens is IR, right?

50-70% unfiltered power is IR, right?

Also, without disassembling to look for the filter, is there another way to check if it is in fact filtered? I don't have an LPM. Would there be a way to equate the power using the thermolead on a fluke meter? I've got a WL core, that could be used as a baseline, but not sure if that's a good idea, or even possible/accurate way.

Usually the IR content is a lot lower, more in the 10-30% range. 70% would be pretty unusual.

You can DYI an lpm, but calibrating it would be... difficult.

One way you could see if your laser is leaking a lot of IR is to use decent/good green blocking goggles. If the goggles block out all the visible light, but your cameras, cell phones, etc, are still able to detect light... that's IR.

Since IR is usually a much smaller component of the overall power, and not collimated/focused I'm not as paranoid about it as I probably should be. IMO being careless with the laser, the green light will be the bigger problem.
