Green <5 USA vs China - Power differences!

Hello all, last month I purchased 4 5mW 532nm 3A Green Laser Pointer from China Ebay seller Yallstock. They are very powerful and impressive at night. Purchased 4 more from and USA Ebay seller Osuppliersr and find them to be less powerful and about 1/4" shorter in length. Just doesn't make sense.

Any thoughts?

not good.. you must delete one of them-

Here is a heads-up for you..
The makers of china 532 penpointers are many- not all the same length or power.
and this is how they are made- almost all 5 to 100 mW 532 pointers are all made the same-
after they are done they 'bin' them-- sorting out the best to the worst- THEN they get sold according to the binning- they do NOT make different powers when they are pen pointers.

so what is it that does not make any sense??

Sorry for the double post. I'm a newbie. How do I delete the post in General? New to lasers, fell in love with them after I got my overpowered Green 5mw from China. Bought 3 for the kids at Christmas. All 3 are over powered.

Want to buy/build a better/stronger one for myself. See lots of comments about sellers. Was thinking about Lazerer, then saw the thread bad mouthing them. My electronic skills are limited. Solder skills are very good. I manufacture and sell Mercedes Code Reader as a side line on Ebay (5 years now). Rpotter66 is my Ebay Handle.

Can someone point me in the right direction with a reputable seller. Full build or parts. Or recommend good 100mw green.

In order to delete your second thread- hit 'edit' at the bottom then click 'go advance' & the delete post places( there are two) and you can put something in the place 'reason for ' the deletion or just leave it blank- you are then done after you hit save.

If you are looking into building your own (very rewarding btw) your best bet for both very bright and low cost would be to get one of the JAD or JADD 445nm kits offered here by many vets- Jayrob- Mohenberg- Flaminpyro- and DTR for the diode--- et al.

You will not find many at LPF that build green handhelds. You can always post a WTB in the BS & T section or check there often to see if any good members are selling some lasers- occasionaly you will get a very well taken care of laser at a super price. Vendors come here sometimes and offer discounted lasers to gain confidence from the forum members.

You may even get lucky and find another member in Kansas- in-person buys are a much better way to go, IMO.. GL

look in BS&T and the Laser Pro shop take your pick- all those guys I mentioned plus more offer what you need. see the stickies at the top in these sections. Or place a WTB and they will come to you- You must check out DTRs many pic-heavy tutorials- He makes it look easy-- Just remember the ESD rules until you get the diode soldered to the driver - short all caps always and use correct pin-out- You still may fail the first time -- I did - most do- its part of the learning curve..
