I dont really need it to burn but thats cool, my 5mW pen is just getting boring and i just want to step up a bit without spending all of this months pay check. So it sounds like this is just the thing [and since it ships from inside the USA i dont have to worry about it gettting taken in shipping]

I'm not a pro on lasers, but what can I say, that this site definetely lies. It is x4 cheaper than 200mW green laser would cost, that's first, second, look at what it writes on "Laser Range > 100 miles"... Maybe I'm out of new technologies, BUT, i haven't heard that there would be any 200mW laser that would go 100 miles range (~150 kilometers)... It would mean, that with ~800mW laser the beam would saw in the other part of my country... So, if you want not a burner, but just a cool laser, then I would choose o-like, and buy the 50mW one. That's just my opinion. For cheap burner I would buy 200mW new style red laser/adjustable.... one more time - it's just my opinion, so no bad comments about this, okey ?

people in this thread http://laserpointerforums.com/f41/has-anyone-ever-bought-anything-gadget-town-50847.html say they are legit [bottom of first page and all the rest of them]

I think this is theoretical distance not real life distance.

EDIT>> Wow just found this video of that 200mW green http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlM8A_-8bEo

Well, then I don't really know... Maybe it eats alot of batteries, maybe he uses stronger batteries, maybe it will go down soon, maybe it's just luck, like you would buy from ebay that wouldn't have 5 stars and etc... So, as I told you earlier, if i'm going to buy a good thing, i would better pay more and get a guaranteed quality item, but not that who has only a several reviews in whole internet. But, it's your choice, you choose should u pay less and buy a fifty-fifty laser (it would be like a loterry), or pay more and buy a guaranteed high quality laser.

P.S. If you will buy this one from gadgettown, after getting it, write a review, it will be then easier to anybody who will be going to get it.

And if you really want to order it the cheapest is here at $37 (instead of $49 at gadget town):

200mw green ASKY laser

That is a better price but i did some research on the company and found many complaints and since it is based in china there is a chance that US customs will take the laser, but since gadget town is US based i wouldnt have to worry.

But you have given me a few things to think about and i wish i could just spring $400 and get a good one from a real company but i just dont have it.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I thought it best to amend this glowing review in case anyone else reads this and thinks of getting one.. DON'T! I've had it for less that a month and it's dead. thought it was just my bad luck to get a dodgy diode, took it apart to have a look inside and what do I find?

I'm emailing them now to see what they say about this but I don't hold much hope. their returns policy is very much in their favour. will post back with any outcome.

Hi, I've just got the 200mW open back one from gadgettown today. gotta say I'm impressed with it for the money, it will cut black binbags easily with a relatively slow slice, light matches in 2/3 seconds and pop balloons almost instantly without a black spot on them.

It does feel a bit light, but that's not really important. the only problem with mine is that the beam is slightly off centre, sure I can fix that though if I want to.

As for gadgettown themselves no issues with ordering, arrived in 2 days to the UK with FedEx. and I've now realised that there must be no restrictions on importing lasers into the UK 'upto 200mW at least' as they fully declared what it was on the package, gonna have to get as many as I can before that changes
