First Laser- WickedLasers or Dragon Lasers?

So I'm looking into my first green laser, green is my favorite color so I'm going with that, luckily happens to be very bright to the human eye I understand.

But I'm also interested in burning ability, a very cool feature.

I was looking at wickedlasers and they have a 532nm 100mW for 299 (everything higher out of my price range), includes the goggles and shipping.

I know they also list their lasers at the minimum power level, so 100mW is the lowest possible, can get up to 249mW they said possibly.

Then I came across Dragon Lasers and they sell 532nm 300mW for the same price, don't think it includes the goggles but still. And also the actual grip that you hold (I don't know the term) doesn't look nearly as cool aesthetically as Wickedlasers', which is also an important aspect for me.

Do you all know what's up with the price difference though? 3x the power for the same price; wickedlasers' 250mW is $500.

Anyway, would love some feedback and advice from you all. Thanks!

Wickedlasers is all about selling overpriced lasers that look cool to impress... um... impressionable people. It was Wickedlasers that advertised 1W 445nm lasers as lightsabers in 2010 and caused a media backlash where news sites were talking about "the Chinese selling real lightsabers to kids".
Wickedlasers is for lasers what A-Eon is for computers: both sell overpriced, baroque, inefficient products to sheep who only care about the hype.

Who do you think gives the best bang for you buck?

Been researching around and dragon lasers and laserbtb seem to have good buys, although not a fan of their houses (I believe they're called?)

As Devil_Master said you're better off steering clear of Wicked lasers. There are a plethora of threads warning newcomers about them.

Also, do a search for Jetlasers or Skylaser (aka LaserBtB). They both make excellent lasers, at affordable prices and discounts are available if you buy though one of the GB's.

I like this one: from jetlasers

It says military green or metallic, but I swear that looks like black, which is what I'd want...

What do you guys think of the 300mW level of that one? Is there any way I can get a discount? Don't really want to wait to try to get a GB going, if I can even get enough to do so.

Also, what does diffraction lens mean?

ahh i just really love the host on the wicked lasers :(

can you take this link and tell me the difference between the spartan series, hulk ultra series, and hulk? i notice theyre different prices for the same mW level so just curious why that would be. because of the host?

It will be related to the build quality. Read about each laser you linked and compare them, youll see differences...generally quality and setup of the crystals, (which directly affects the beam specs) but also host, power, run time and features...If you want further info, youll have to do some reading and searching on the forum.

Contact len whose nick is hakzaw1 on this forum

His business is organizing Group Buys of Jetlasers products on several forums and promoting/selling/reselling Jetlasers products at group buy prices on his business web site--perhaps he can give you a discount on a PL-E 300mw, 532nm green or and Pl-E 1000 or 1500mw 445nm blue laser. He double checks power output of each laser with his LPMs before shipment and ships from Texas which saves some shipping costs also.
His business web site is : http://www.greenlaserpointer.org/

You are way better off with a quality JetLasers product than with a Dragon Lasers product--additionally Dragon Lasers is on the FDA list for US Customs to detain any of their products without physical examination, for violation of the rules and regulations which means they can not legally ship to USA see: Import Alert 95-04

can you fit one of those lenses to any laser that gives a cool design, like a line or strobelight or a ton of dots to use at a party for example, stuff like that?

Sounds like you have a lot of research and studying to do to know what exists, how to use same responsibly and to decide color, output power, what you want and with what features you want most.

If you have to have green and you love the look of Wicked Lasers S3 get a Krypton 532nm with expanded lens set. Expensive for a 100mw -- $299 + $49.95 for lens kit + shipping----even more expensive for higher output powers

If you are OK with blue there are several choices.

You can get a Wicked Laser S3 Arctic 445nm with expanded lens kit or

For less money and with glass lens instead of plastic lens you can get a rife V2 from Laserer with lens kit RIFLE 445nm V2 - 1W Focusable Blue Laser Pointer

For even a little less money you can get a 1000mw with 5 heads, laser goggles, case , batteries, and charger from OXLasers including free shipping see: Aliexpress.com : Buy oxlasers OX BX5 445nm 1.2w/1200mw burning focusable blue laser pointer (5 star caps) with safety glasses+Free Shipping from Reliable blue laser pointer 1000mw suppliers on OXLasers's Online Official Flagship Store

Jetlasers are superior professional laser products with long duty cycles at full output compared to any of the above however they do not come lens caps or kits and are not designed for them.

All of them are powerful, potentially dangerous, and you need to use laser goggles to protect your eyes from damage while learning how and where to use safely---all of them are too powerful to use at parties without risk of damaging someone's eyes. Using responsibly and avoiding use in danger to yoursef and/or others situations is a big part of having and owning a laser.

Use the forum search and study study study

i have wicked lasers and i like them but you can get much more for the price. WL is a brand name thing and you're buying the name "wicked lasers" and a decent laser comes with it. go to lazerer and get the stick or go to o-like and get the power rock. they are both 1W lasers for less than the arctic and the power rock has a lens kit you can buy for it. hope i helped :)

A lot of sellers have that same laser for around that price --yes is usually more but it is a great price for it ---including shipping!
Have not bought from them but they have been around a long time and sell to other resellers.
PS the specs on that page do say 400mw-420mw output including IR ---still is a pretty good deal at the price I think.

Aliexpress is the only small order online Oxlasers webstore and has buyer protection and takes credit cards --- ordering direct I do not think they take credit cards. Aliexpress has a buyer protection plan also AliExpress Buyer Protection Home

Email Ben Wang the owner with any questions have a look at thier full catalog FAQ's they mostly supply other businesses at wholesale prices.

Contact info is here at their main web site Contact OXlasers - Blue, Red, Green Laser Pointer, Powerful Lasers - OXlasers China

lol! this is true though. buying WL lasers is like buying Beats headphones. they are over price and over rated but nobody is saying they are bad, there are just so many better options. trust me (read my signature) i know my way around WL lasers and i bought a laser from warnlaser for half the price of my krypton and it was just as good.
