Yes, I need to choose between SKU 10557 (30mW Romisen L-B030 Green Laser with GITD Tail (CR123A)) and SKU 11047 (L-030 30mW Mini Flashlight Style Green Laser (CR123A)).

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11047 (Smaller one)

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10557 (Larger one)

I can't tell what the difference is other than one having a green tailcap and being slightly larger. Do either have IR filters? Are they worth the money?
They should both be decent. The one with a GiTD tail is also waterproof so it might make sense to pay $6 more for it. Only problem is that it's currently back ordered 16 days.

i went with the smaller one cuz its cheaper. also, since its only 30mW, i just figured i would get a small case.
Now if i had to pick between a mini 100mW or flashlight 100mW I'd choose the flashlight one.

so since its onyl 30mW i suggest the mini one, also i heard the other one is having some problems with the clicky switch..

I had the 10557 one and have the 11047 on order. the 10557 has no IR filter not sure about the other but I would say it wont either. the 10557 can be modded easy as the pot does work on it and is very easy to get to. I will post a review if the other one ever gets here.

Yeah I think I'll wait for yours :p

Are these reliable? Both of the crappy pen lasers I've gotten so far are more or less useless. I want a 30mW that will turn on, work (as in let me see a bright beam at night and somewhat in daylight), and possibly take the odd drop (I'm clumsy).

They don't seem to be that much different in size, however. I'm leaning towards the smaller one because it doesn't have that silly glass on the front that will sap away my milliwats.

Well I'm impatient. I just ordered three of the bigger ones for me and some friends. I think I might still buy that small one, so let me know how it is. Buy the way is it possible that the ring close to the top (on the small one) is a focuser?

For me I just liked the look of the smaller one. I don't think that is a focus, but if it is, it's a very good place to stick a focusing ring, should be very stable.

I dont think these things come with an adjustable focus, unless you take it apart and turn the internal lens manually.

They probably have the exact same laser module inside too, just a different casing.

I would guess so too.

Either way, these look like they should be more reliable than the pen pointers and possibly even more than the KD 50mW. They're backordered to hell.

i got my l-a030 today.
it is very bright, and the button problem is easily fixed with a bit of toilet paper. I would reccomend it.

Now I don't have to decide because I bought both anyway. Just waiting for it to come along.

Well, I kinda have no camera at the moment but if you like crappy phone pics, then sure. I'll have a go when they eventually send them out.

They should arrive in time for the 2012 Olympics, Dealextreme shipping is where it's at.
