i recently bought the 20 mw green laser from DX and have a few questions.
When i turn it on it takes a little while for it to reach full intensity and flickers in the process. Is this normal?. and also when it is just turned on and put close to white paper there is two little dots coming from the output.
Anyone who has that laser does it happen to you?

happy to be a member of this forum ;)

thanks

Things - WELCOME !!

That is not normal, but it would most likely be cost prohibitive to return it to DX, I think....

That is called TEM01 that you are seeing (from your description) when there are two distinct beams exiting the laser like that. Shine it through a big magnifying gass, and post a pic of it - so I can see exactly what it looks like ?

The fickering is normal to certain extent - most dpss lasers will do that in the warming up process - but it usually is not that severe.

My old CNI 35mw used to do what you described, however since I changed from normal alkaline to Lithium batteries, this has never happened since, I would recommend that you try a pair of lithiums before you return it to DX. You may be pleasantly surprised.
