Hi, I ordered this module DealExtreme: $15.95 Geniune New Wish 5mW Green Laser Module (5V) a while ago, but it's still back ordered and it seems that it has been this way for a long time. Does any of you here ordered this module recently? I would also like to know if somebody here knows about some alternative module that I can use instead of this one? (I am mostly looking for a free-shipping website)
Thank You

Check with O-like.

I looked at O-like website but I didn't find any 5mW module. The one that they have is 5~10mW but I really need exactly 5mW because I want to build a yellow laser.

But thanks to everybody.

I just wonder, if I would buy a laser and it would be too strong, is it possible to pot mod it down to get lower power? Or if let's say its 5V laser and I would give it less juice will I get less power?
Thanks

Can you please send me a link to that thread? I didn't find any.

Here is the link. I recommend reading the whole thread. These are 3V modules!

You can easily decrease the power to appropriate level by turning the potentiometer on the PCB. Turn clockwise to decrease the power (for DX modules).

ok you guys know for ten bucks that you get the true dx 5 mW and its basically the same you just need to solder on a red and black wire and they can be turned up from 10mw to 100mw usually 75mw though i have done it about 30+ times so far

Ok thanks.
I wonder why does the green module (DealExtreme: $7.29 5mW 532nm Green Laser Module (3V 11.9mm)) cost almost half the price of the DealExtreme: $15.95 Geniune New Wish 5mW Green Laser Module (5V) ?
I need a module that's gonna have its brightness as soon as I push the button, and I am not sure if the one here DealExtreme: $7.29 5mW 532nm Green Laser Module (3V 11.9mm) would satisfy my needs?

I also ordered one of these DealExtreme: $10.50 True Green Laser Pen 5mW.
Do you think that the module inside is the same one as this one DealExtreme: $15.95 Geniune New Wish 5mW Green Laser Module (5V) ? How hard is it to extract the module out of the pen?
Do I need to do something special? Or just solder two wires to it and I am ready to go?

Nobody can guarantee what you will receive. Some green modules need few seconds to stabilize their output. The one I have (100) doesn't have such issues but it's only one. It's better to ask somebody who has more of them.

The modules in DX green laser pens appear to be the same as the ones DX sells separately. Check this thread on DX forum:

There is a thread about DX True 5 here:
