Which DinoDirect green laser?

Hi everybody, new here to these awesome forums and just needed help deciding which laser would be best (hopefully from members who have bought/used the ones I am thinking of buying from experience).

The 3 I'm looking at are:

4-In-1 200mw 532nm Handheld Green Laser Pointer - DinoDirect.com

200mw 532nm Focus Handheld Green Laser Pointer - DinoDirect.com

200mw 532nm Green Focus Handheld Laser Pointer - DinoDirect.com

Now it seems they are all alike, but they each have a different title and I have no idea what the 4-in-1 consists of. Do you get 4 different lenses in one laser? That might be the case because under the images they show 4 different pattern designs but I'm no interested in using this laser just for designs. The last 2 seem to be identical but once again the images show different patterns.

Do you just turn the head of the laser and it will display the patterns? I don't think I really want that. I just want a straight shot beam laser with no pattern designs. Now, does anybody think I would be able to burn matches, pop balloons etc with either of those 3 lasers? I only ask because that's like the first thing people look for in a 200mW laser because it shows it's powerful.

If anybody can help me decide from those 3 that would be great. Thank you for reading and great forums!

None of those lasers will be even close to 200mW. Probably closer to 50mW, with plenty of IR.

The patterns are usually attachments that you can put on, and twist to move the patern.

You would be better of looking at o-like or rayfoss as they are much more reputable when it comes to cheaper lasers.

Please invest in safety goggles, you WILL absolutely need them. One accident and you will end up with a blind spot. If you intend to burn with a green laser you need invest in a laser that is IR (infrared) filtered, install an IR filter yourself, or get safety goggles that block IR.

Attempting to burn without goggles is asking for trouble.

Infinitus, there are several GOOD Dinodirect pointers out there.

These suggestions have less than 5% of IR in the output and are onspec / overspec:

100mW 532nm Open-Back Green Laser Pointer Pen BGP3032(2 x AAAincluded), Europe - DinoDirect.com (one of mine has stable 140mW)

Firedragon-VII 532nm 200mw Flashlight Handheld Green Laser Pointer Pen (Certified Power Guaranteed), Europe - DinoDirect.com

Firedragon-V 532nm 80mw Pure Green Laser Pointer Pen ( FDA Certified Power Guaranteed), Europe - DinoDirect.com (one of mine has stable 175mW)

(Suggestions tested by myself)

^^^Cool, thanks for the tip. I'll pass on the flashlight one, but I was actually looking for a nice pen. The firedragon seems like the safest choice.

I agree with Infinitus. That 80mW is definitely the next laser on my list to buy.

Thanks for your replies. I guess I will pass on the DinoDirect ones (they did look a bit cheap design wise anyways). Has anybody had any experience with that cheap $27 green laser from DX? I'm looking for a good laser that is under the $35 price range. I understand the DX laser won't be 200mW either but the reviews are pretty good about it and the pictures/videos look great and the videos show it engraving a case.

I also apologize for turning this thread into a "help me I'm too dumb to research" thread but all of you seem pretty experienced with these websites and you probably own lots of lasers :p. So maybe if anybody can suggest a decent 200mW (once again I understand it won't be exactly 200mW) green laser within the $20-35 price range that would be great. Thank you.

^^^True 200mW is actually kind of a pain to find, and is basically impossible to do for $35.

For $35, realistically you'll be looking at ~50mW.

If you're in the US, and just want something to shine in the sky (no people, cars, planes, helicopters:tsk: or cops go :twak: - and 99.9% of the membership here will too) check out swimminsurfer's overspec pens. The do seem to hit at least 50mW consistently.
