Many laser companies advertised customized powers. What do they actually change or improve? the current to diode? the size of the KTP crystal? or both? or all three? I am ordering a customizable 600 mw 532 that I up sized from a 400 mw. It has plenty of heat sinking and other bells and whistles. I was just curious

I am ordering this from Laser Pen Shop

The diode, driver, (crystals, if applicable) and power source are all scalable.

Sometimes they just make a whole bunch of the same laser, but depending on the crystals some will be more or less efficient so they bin them based on that.

So for an example a website says laser power customizabl. do they use a lager crystal. and diode,or just up the amps and charge more money? can you get out pore power with better. bigger ktp and mabe a liile mor amps?

THey could change a number of factors. The could change the diode to a higher power one, they could adjust the current, there could be more efficient crystals. The power of the diode is limited by the host, because the higher the power, the more heat it produces.
It's impossible to tell what they change without having two models and comparing the differences.

It is best just to buy the power you want and not to mess with it. As I stated above they usually don't change anything and just bin the lasers based on the efficiency of the crystals, since that varies greatly. IIRC the crystals that grow on the edge have more imperfections and are less efficient.
