as I write before, simply use a power meter to measure how your filters can absorb...

... I can point my lasers directly at my pupil, and just see the red glow of the LD (keep in mind the lasers are <50mW green). I am wondering if this is as safe as goggles.... What do ya think?
I think it's too late to wonder if it's as safe as goggles.

Who in their right mind would point a laser directly at their pupil? I may be a noob here, but even if I had the proper goggles on, I still don't think I'd point the laser at my eyes anyway.

Its NOT that easy, that doesn't account for bleaching or burning.

yes it's true, but by means of power meter you could have an indication of the beam power before and after the use of filters. I have done several times and you can easily see the difference between safety goggles and Ray-Ban :D
