IMO it isn´t that easy.
There is a higher chance of getting a crap laser when buying from cheap companies like DX, FP (...), but there are always great steals, especially at the lower power range <50mW.

All three are working fine and don´t have more than 5mW IR in their 45-50mW output!



This laser I purchased from BIC is also a personal tip for the bucks.



Just want to show that the very cheap lasers aren´t all bad. Of course if you want quality lasers with an IR filter go for Optotronics, Laserglow etc.
