The brightest green line of my argon is 515nm:

How do you get the multiple lines to separate so far? Is that just from a prism?

It is a Coherent diffraction grating and the camera angle helps make them seem further apart than the really are. This pic should help put it in perspective:

You can see the beam hitting the grating and deflecting into a main beam and two orders of diffraction. In the 1st order (brightest) diffracted beam you can see the lines beginning to spread..

Getting one from Dave in a few days. Uniphase 2214-20GL. Will update when I get it. :)

Sweet! I searched LPF for 515nm and couldn't find any other pictures. Can't wait.
