You probably should get them for future use when you get other highpowered lasers.

i dont use glasses for my 50mW green or my phr :s
i really only do beam profiling ATM. i have glasses on the way any how :p

eh... don't be too lax. 50mW absolutely, positively, without a doubt can cause blind spots on your retina.

'Relatively', 50mW is low. But it's still 10x 5mW. You can't be too careful... Back in 2006 or so I had a pretty bad scare with my WL 60mW reflecting off of my guitar and back at my face. That laser is still something I don't want to point at myself or have reflect back at me. When your 50mW arrives, I believe you'll concur, once you see the beam and spot.

Please be careful. As the relative powers in the hobby go up I fear that people will become less cautious with "low" powers; when not that many years ago 50mW of 532 would be considered something to reckon with.

50mW is absolutely still indeed dangerous to vision.

I use glasses with my 50mW. It is excruciatingly bright indoors.

And yes, they work well.

Remember- you don't get another pair of eyeballs.

Honestly a quick reflection from 50mW would not damage your eyes. The only thing that would from a 50mW would be directly shining it in your eyes.

.....what if it reflected off a mirror? 50mw is still MIN 10x MPE and can definitely blind you if you get hit, and no, it doesn't need to be a direct hit.

Ok maybe a mirror but I got an idea. Dont shine it at a mirror. I get reflections from a 150 green a lot and still have perfect vision.

If you get hit with 150wm 532 allot then you DO NOT have perfect vision, you think you do b/c your brain is good at covering it up but if you went to a eye doctor he could show you some nice pics of your blind spots.:whistle:

I guess it's time to make an eye doctor appointment. Lol. I will admit my defeat when I get the bad news.

A $8 focalprice pair of goggles would be enough. Buy it.

I would start saving for a better multi-nm pair for yourself soon --then retire the $8 to be used as 'guest' goggles-

I sent up my home laser show alone- all beamage below the knees or way overhead- pass out the guest goggles- make all take a seat-crank up the music and lasers and nobody is allowed to move about much w/o letting me know.

enjoy but be safe my friends

if you really are going to the DR ask him for a copy of the pics. They are very interesting and there is a post somewhere that describes exactly what the pic will show. have no idea how to find it, it was a random post

You can't really compare them to certified or multi-nm goggles, but for that price you can't complain.
I suggested them because they have VERY good results during tests.
