A 520nm diode murder fund? As in, a fund meant specifically to purchase a 520nm diode with the intent of pushing one of these gorgeous beauties to its limit for the sake of knowledge? I'd be willing to chip in on something like that! ^_^

That's it, I think you'll find that most diodes we use today have been put through murder testing by at least 1 member

I just yesterday found myself amazedly staring at a graph, by none other than Blord himself, that would seem to show the PL450B being capable of sustaining output from 5mW all the way through ~300mW! I would be quite curious to see just what these PL-520's can do. Dragon/Cody

Yes, I was very surprise that the 80mW 450nm diode can do over 300mW. That is almost quadtriple the output. And it was still not dead.

I feel like everyone is missing the source that I posted...they are available already. I'm ordering one tonight. Since I'm on quarters for the next 72 hours there isn't much for me to spend money on anyway, so I'm grabbing it.

Oh man this is getting me excited! I cant wait for these diodes to fall in price just a wee bit more... I dont want to spend more than $100 bucks on a diode, just isnt that practical for me...
Now if I was loaded, I'd buy all of these available on eBay!

I saw your source from when you first posted the thread. I've been quiet in that thread, but I subscribed to it and I've been subsequently hawk-eyeing it.
I'm going to be watching the availability of those diodes, and anything discovered about them, quite closely, as they're giving me the inklings of a potentially interesting idea for after I get my planned 405nm and 638nm builds finished.
