A couple of weeks ago I found this laser High Power Focus Burning Green Laser Pointer Free Battery Charger Security Keys | eBay and decided I would buy it to see if it was any good. It shipped from hong kong and got here in 5 days. Upon arrival the battery already had a charge in it and the laser seemed some what powerful. After a couple of days of playing with it and charging the battery it became pretty powerful. It can burn anything that is black and I have lit matches with it. The seller was very nice also after I sent the payment he made sure to message me on ebay with a picture of the package before it shipped.
Not sure how much Mw but the sticker says 1000Mw but I know its no where near that

Here is a beamshot I took in my basement

hope you wearing proper safety glasses, green laser will KILL your eyes if you dont, especially up close when burning. HERE is an easy way to identify your lasers output without actually LPM'ing it. Please note that those are just estimates and should be used for comparisons only, NOT used for exact outputs.

With that aside, nice solid beam. post some more pictures of your laser and do a review of it here. as a community we enjoy seeing what others are using and how lasers perform.

If it can light matches its probably in the 80mw+ range. Definitely not more than 150mw though, unless you paid big bucks....

Be careful, it probably doesnt have an IR filter, and you definitely need goggles to use that indoors or when burning. IT WILL FRY YOUR EYES. You can see what that laser does on things focused to the point it is now (lighting matches). The light coming from the dot to your eye is focused up to 100,000 times onto your retina. So if you want your vision, get goggles.

The desc. says it's under 1mW which is obviously not true... Why do I get the feeling he's just trying to advertise for this eBay account in hopes of selling some lasers?

Maybe a burning video would help convince people to throw 30$ to this eBay seller.

I'll try and get a video or a pic of it burning something.

the laser says less than 1000mW....they do this to get people more excited about their lasers when in reality it is no where even remotely close to 1000mW.......that would cost you a fortune. i also REALLY REALLY REALLY am hoping that you are wearing proper safety glasses. if not please stop using your laser until you acquire some or else you will burn out your eyes, need i remind you they are the only two you will ever have.

My 54mw 532 is perfectly visible in the day. I don't see how the chart says such a high number.

Uploading 1 pic of the laser and a video of it burning plastic. Will update this post with both.

Here is a picture of the sticker. As you can see it says 1000mw

Here is a video of it burning plastic. It might be hard to see the smoke but you should be able to see it. http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums...28EAC21-4451-000002F1D7E97A62_zps26f1901a.mp4

i think its refering to a full highly visible beam. my laserpen, which im guessing is around 35-50mW, is visible in the day if the conditions are right but its not a super highly visible beam but yeah i dont get the beam visible at night indoors on that chart

Just remember that usually those cheap overspec lasers out of HK have poor IR filtering. The ability for that laser to burn may therefore be because there is a ton of invisible IR flooding out of it. That IR also diverges faster than the green laser light, so even if your green spot is hitting some matte surface, the area around it might be reflecting that IR.

You'll probably be okay with that laser outdoors or hitting matte targets at a good distance from you, but up close (such as burning matches), you're probably still in danger even with green-protecting goggles, because they rarely cover IR wavelengths too.

For like $5 you can get an IR filter from O-like. Then you can see how much power the green part of the beam really has

^^yes you can but green is also the easiest color to see and without it being LPM'd, he is still at risk since over 5mW of green can still damage your eye

Of course. Always wear eye protection. I was just saying that he could but the filter to see just how much of his lasers' power is IR
