If I bought a few hundred dollar laser and had a problem I would post my issue. But I'm constantly seeing people with concerns about some 20-40 dollar units. I know people want to think they got a deal, but what do they expect. I'm not trying to put anyone down, I just wouldn't go through making a profile to ask about a cheap laser, that's acting like a cheap laser. Again not trying to offend.

I apologize. Showing initiative by asking a question is great. I wasn't downing him for asking a question. I just didn't see the point of questioning a 32 dollar lasers quality.

yes , i am a noob in terms of laser (1st buy) i'm happy with it , and 20-40 dollars for americans is nothing , but in india those 20-40 dollars convert into 1200-2400 rupees , which is not less for people (i am not a earning person and i dont get that much of money ) hope you understand why i am not happy with it .

Ahh I see. Then yes I understand. But remember buying from places that sell these types of lasers is so hard. You may get junk, you may get a great deal. And you might as well close your eyes and pick because the advertisement is barely ever right. I could recommend an ebay seller overfeel. He has a green laser that lights matches and pops balloon for 27$. And again for a tight budget it's going to be tough finding quality. And believe me, I'm a young father, a few hundred bucks is by far nothing :) Sorry if I came of poorly.+1 for encouragement ;)

Yea, if you want a quality green laser that will actually be on spec, and be able to burn things, expect to pay 1$ (or about 60 rupees) per mW.

Like previously mentioned, there are a lot of ebay green pens advertised as "5mW" that are more like 80mW...that will pop a balloon for you. Usually they only cost around 10-20USD.

if you want to poke a hole or pop a balloon with the laser you got...tape a needle to it. other than that, it won't be doing and damage.

Sorry you got tricked! False advertisement really sucks :( the more lasers you buy (if you buy more), the more of an eye you will develop for scams. Try buying from sites that are trusted by the people on this forum (laserBTB is one example), or buying directly from members here. Good luck!

There's a way to test for I R leak but you need red goggles and a Laser power meter, put red goggles in front of beam and let beam go through the red goggles onto the thermopile ie the power meters sensor the reading on the LPM will be the I R leak amount as the red goggles will block 99.9 %of the green but you haven't got a LPM .Your laser will not have enough power in IR leak to worry about.

Well that's twice as bad one can only give a basic way to test something, if he doesn't have either of what he needs not much can do about it.
