Would you use your laser for self defense?

If you had a bright enough laser (nice powerful greenie on a dark night) you'd probably freak the guy out.

I mean, a lot of people think hand held lasers are like those in the movies, so if he sees a powerful beam of green light at his feet, he'd probably scram!

Or think it's completely harmless, or think it's some kind of gun or tazer with lasersight.....there's no telling what uneducated people would think....

I'd whip the laser out and blast him in the face. If I'm going to carry a laser around with me, it'd be my WL Fusion. Sure, it's only doing half its rated output, but that's still plenty to deter anybody from attacking me. I'm fairly sure even a quick pass across the eye directly from the beam would overload your retina for at least 30 seconds. The guy would be swinging in the dark and would give you time to make an escape. Also, it would likely be very difficult for your assailant to identify you afterwards.

Cop: "and what did he look like?"
Bad Guy: "I dunno..... it..... well..... he was green!"

To those who said you might get sued etc. etc. Remember this guy was making death threats which is punishable by jail time. You were defending yourself and would have the laser taken away with a fine at best. Sure beats getting stabbed in the face.

Hook up some speakers to the lazor so when you turn it on it goe FLUUUUUzurpZINGbzzzzzzzzzz and awesome science fictiony noises. That'll scare the pants off them.

He would probably be blinded, start shooting randomly, hit my fishtank. And I would end up with a watery mess to clean up the next morning.

When he gets blinded punch him in the face and take his gun. Even better kick him in the face if you're a flexy sexy dude.
