100% true, I wont say what but, I got arrested like a couple months ago and the cop was very nice and told me if I corporate and told the truth Id just get a warning and wont be charged with any Felony's or Misdemeanors. I gave up and told the truth, I got charged with a misdemeanor. I was then told that cops can Legally lie, to get evidence. You can imagine how angry I was. :undecided::gun:

 Did you get the whole "we don't want this to turn adversarial with a lawyer" spiel too?

Bottom line is cops are absolutely, legally, allowed to lie. As such the only information you are required to give them is your name. After that, you ask for a lawyer and shut up.

There is a reason why they say "Anything you say, can and will be used against you..." it's the only honest thing they say;)

They had everything they needed, I was even wearing the same clothes, and my license plate was on the camera. I doubt even the best lawyer could of gotten me out of that one.

Confession are always a lot less work and easier for them. With court, there is always a chance you could get off. Maybe the camera angle wasn't good. Maybe someone wears the same clothes as you do? Maybe this was an area where you weren't supposed to have been filmed, or maybe it wasn't you driving the car.

In the end there are a LOT of maybe's and a lawyer might not even try to get you off, but will work on a better deal for you... of course never trust a public defender who wants to plea bargain as soon as he walks in the door.

Triple Edit: Not sure who I like less, cops or lawyers. Both are a necessary evil at best.:undecided:

Good! I dont know why they even needed me to admit. My face was clearly on the screen? Did they need me to admit to charge me? :undecided: I dont know anything about Law.

Getting you to admit to a crime just makes the cops and the prosecutors job even easier. As infinitas said there are a lot of variables that can effect a case so the cops want to make it as air tight as possible. Also did you actually see the supposed tape with your face and your car. The cops said the same thing in my case, they also claimed that my friend (at the time) hat ratted me out and recorded me talking about the crime when it was obviously BS. So did you actually see the video or no? Just curious.

I didnt really want to make it a big deal, it was only a misdemeanor and probation wasnt really that bad. At the time I didnt think there was any possibility of me getting off the hook. But I should of protected my rights better.

After I denied being there or anything, they showed me the video and I was wearing the same exact clothes, same exact car, and same exact face. And it was right under the camera. But speaking about lieng about the video, Junior year of high school, I lit some firecrackers in the hallway :eg: for a prank and they said I was busted and they had me on video. I kept saying it wasn't me, and it turned out they didn't have video. But the school still expelled me for the rest of the year and I got charged with Reckless use of Fire and/or explosives a Serious misdemeanor in the state of Iowa.

By the way Im not a bad person, I just make some bad decisions sometimes, I don't have any more Felonies/misdemeanor other than those two. I plan to keep it this way. :p

I know you're not a bad person. Neither am I and the incident I'm talking about happened years ago when I was in a very different place in life and doing some very stupid shit. Everybody makes bad decisions at one point or another and some of us (like myself) make/made more of them than others. In my opinion if you're not doing anything that is truly hurting people most things are forgivable especially if you better yourself as a person after.

It seems he's trying to draw attention to LPF and respected members while at the same time continuing to be a complete idiot as usual. Probably cried too much after he got torn apart on here and youtube and it's his way of "getting back at us".

Exactly we are giving the brainless dickhead attention.

Hes a troll he feeds on our hate.

So long as no one is hurt, IMO it's no big deal. As a side note, I've been handcuffed in the principals office because of fireworks... this piece of $hit kid ratted on me saying I had freaking explosives because he knew I liked to play with fireworks. They got very touchy about the subject after columbine:p

Fortunately they never found my stash, so I only got three days in school suspension.

Probation does kind of suck too... but not a problem in general... been there done that:tinfoil:

I got ratted on too. :cryyy: The firecrackers went off for around 15 seconds, a pretty long time. It didnt help that firecracker's are illegal in Iowa. :eg:

They are illegal in NJ as well. In my case they were never able to prove that I had any fireworks, or that I set off any of them anywhere near the school, so they couldn't punish me for that.

The rat certainly got what was coming to him though:eg:

I think the three of us need to go out on a crime spree ASAP. First things first defocus our lasers a bit to use as dazzlers against the cops. :eg:

Ill drive :eg: I wont do anything evil though :eg: It seems that WL is causing a problem how about we do a white crime (like a white lie) , We can go to China first and steal all of Wicked Lasers tools and horribly underspec lasers. And when they fight back with their arctics, we can fight back with our $5 gas station red laser pointers which should have the same power. :na::whistle:

heard on NPR a similar story. A teenaged mother was accused of killing her baby. The baby died of complications likely related to a combination of sickness and asthma. The police interrogated her, she repeatedly said that she didn't know what happened, that she didn't smother her own child, etc. They simply kept telling her that she was lying, and that they know that she did it. They went on to accuse her of killing her baby brother when they were children, even though if it hadn't been for her, he'd never have made it to the hospital. Finally, they told her that even if she didn't do it, if she confessed to it, they'd help her and her family with this tragic incident. She asked them, as if to confirm that they would really help her, before quietly confessing to killing her own child, a child she had held in her arms alive less than a day earlier.

Protect and Serve used to be the motto. What's their motto now? Incriminate and Torture? But still, I guess we shouldn't let a barrel of rotten apples spoil the good ones.

Sorry. That was back in the 80's. You have no rights anymore. The socialist took over DC and passed a law called the "Patriot Act." This removed ALL your rights behind the skirt of terrorism. If not then how does the TSA do pat down searches of everyone. This would NEVER fly in America back in the day. Cops would DIE and Congressmen would have been SHOT over searches without probable cause. Not anymore! Searches are free and freaquent now with no judges signature or probable cause. If it hasnt happened to you yet, it will. There is no way to fight this anymore. If you DO get a good lawyer the best theyll do for you is have the evidence thrown out of court (for a lot of $$). They wont be able to stop the illegal (now legal) search.

If you read my posts in a few other threads you will se that I am painfully aware of the abuse of rights that goes on every day in this country.

and yet half of amaricans still think that the PATRIOT act is necessary and proper.

I've never understood politics. I don't think I ever will.
