.... The beam seems to come out at a funny angle from the flashlight in this shot, is that just an optical illusion?

It looks like the module is in out of alignment with the body.  If you look at this picture
PA300213.jpg

You can see that the module appears to be tilted toward the left in the picture (toward the "D" in danger).  In the picture that you posted the label is down (meaning that the laser is turned upside down from the above picture).  If the laser was turned upside down the angle would agree with the direction of the beam in the picture you posted.

Is the module loose in the heat sink?

Peace,
dave

My guess is that the 5mW looks like a "genuine" one to many people, however when people see yours they know it's a mod.

just my theory. however i would probably bid on ye laser

oh question, erm what is the reserve of this item? i don't get it when people make a reserve, yet put it at a low starting bid, why not start it at your reserve bid price?

i don't think that it will go above £70, if the eBay nazis son't take it off.

On an unrelated note, selling some 5mW leadlight pointers on ebay seems a good was to make a little money - they cost like £20 to make, and sell for like £180

What are the details of the laser ban ?

JapanMan2, setting a reserve is a selling strategy, basically.
Set the bidding to start at, say, $90 or whatever, maybe your item will sell, but people will wait until the last minute to bid.
Set opening bid at .99 cents with a $90 reserve, that is more likely to encourage many early bids, and develop into the full blown bidding wars that sellers love to see.
Some people will just keep bidding and bidding just to break the reserve.

I don't use reserves much, when I do I usually say right in the auction what it is, or at least tell people when they ask.

The selling of lasers over 1mW on eBay UK is banned:
http://www2.ebay.com/aw/uk/200810210948412.html

It kinda sucks, but i can still list up to 5mW on ebay USA, and maybe make a little money there. The reason i sell on ebay is that here, there are better builders that can sell for very cheap prices, and i would never sell something

If you have his ebay name see if he is selling anything, (advanced search/sellers name) if so contact him through a listing.....

list it as a party laser or something, its not sneaky and they'll probably catch it, but to me its worth a try
