Hi
I, like a lot of you have a small box of lenses. 3 elements, couple made by DTR for 520nm, a number of G-2'.
Of the G-2's I see different dealers selling them for a fairly wide range of prices.
They are all expensive. Relatively speaking. I've used DTR's and SL lenses. they both seem high quality. I think SL's are made here in the US.
Are their differences that make the higher price ones better.
Who do you get yours from?
Thanks in advance.
David

You get shat you pay for.(generally) I've been happy with the DTR and SL. Podo sent me a couple also. Worked great. Just a guess, more work and more expensive to produce G-2 lenses. ( sure love how it works with a 405, really burns)

The original source for G-2 lenses is laser66.com here: Creative Technology Lasers - Your source for diode lasers and laser modules at green, red and other wavelengths. here is a more direct link where you can find the lenses: Creative Technology Lasers - Module Housing Components Page you can see they are expensive and are made in the U.S. This is the lens used in the ones sold by DTR and Survival Laser, the others are cheaper Chinese made copies. I haven't tried the ones Podo sells but I haven't seen a negative report about them so I assume their performance is about equal. So far I have purchased all my lenses from DTR, Survival Laser, and AixiZ. The single element lens from AixiZ that they call a G-2 seems to be about equal to a genuine G-2, it is made in China www.aixiz.net I didn't bother to do any special testing, for my purposes I don't really care if there is a very small difference.

All the G2 lenses i purchased from AixiZ are awesome and comparable to the other G2 's that were mentioned . i have them from the other two vendors and seems to be no difference in performance at least from my testing. I have 3 element also from AixiZ and there great as well .I buy 6+ at a time and due for another order soon AixiZ lens are fine and do the job very well.
