Hello I have a question. Where would you find DPSS lasers? I mean what kind of equipment? huge large laser printers? photo processing equiment? I am trying to find out where they would be. What about air cooled argons? It is hard to find info on the web as to where these lasers are used as OEM units. Thanks

if you are looking for a cheap laser, just buy one.

Photocopiers and laser printers use low power diode lasers.

air cooled Argon units can be found in ancient monster laser printers, however most of those have either had the lasers extracted already or the whole machine has been tossed out to recycling or landfills.

In the world of photo copy and printing equipment power is not a requirement, just a gentle pinpoint of light.

Being as DPSS is a fairly new technology. (as far as lasers go) Most equipment that uses them will still be in use.
Argons can be found on e-bay everywhere.
But, be careful, most of them are dead/dying.
I believe Dave (Daguin) has a nice ML Argon for sale for a very good price.
(If I didn't owe so much $$ for taxes,I'd be on it like stink on a monkey)
You would be 1000X better off to buy from him, then anywhere else.

Sounds great where can I find him? I would like to talk to him about an argon. I found a tube for my 164 (thank GOD!!!!!) But I would like to find another argon. Thanks Scoob.

It is not that I am trying to find a cheap laser, (tough would be nice to find a great source ) I was just trying to find out where DPSS lasers are used and they still make air cooled argon lasers in Utah so they must still be desired. I want to find out so I can give info to our science teacher cause as I said we are getting into lasers in a serious way and the kids are getting excited so he wants me to help him gather info. So anyways yes thanks for any info you guys give my way. Scoob.

DPSS lasers are used in DNA sequence machines, laser light shows, Medical equipment,etc..

Laserben would be the one to ask, he knows a ton about this.

Meanwhile try google. it's awesome.
