Hey guys,

where can I find some good, cheap lab lasers?

I've browsed on Optotronics and they're horrendously expensive.

Probably since they're used for some specific function.

Cheers,
Dingers

For some reason the name David Lanling rings a bell. I think he has a store on ebay for cheap labbies.

Oh dear God, stop recommending DX. Please. <.<

Laserglow sells some as well. Then there's always eBay, and the links the other guys mentioned.

Why are labbys more expensive than handhelds?

I thought it'd be the opposite.

60 bucks for 35mW on DX even!

And the best prices of all:DIY Laser show

Lab units are more expensive (at low power) because of the power supplies and heat sinking material. A lab unit will perform better than it's portable counterpart in most cases. When considering higher power however, lab units are FAR cheaper A 1/2 watt herc is 4 grand or so while a 1/5 watt lab unit can be yours for $1500 or less. Also, they have much higher power limits. The limit for a green hand-held is 500mW or so. The limit for a green lab unit respectively can be in the tens of watts.
