Hi all,

I'm new to all this but am half way through sourcing all the bits I need to build my first one.

I have:
- battery - New Panasonic Li Lion 18650 NCR18650 Rechargeable Battery 3100mAh Green | eBay
- host (FandyFire) - http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/lazeerer-hosts-heatsinks-sale-thread-68200.html
- laser - 1 5 2W 445 Blue Laser Diode in Module w Leads | eBay

But I still need:
- copper heat sync
- booster

Both of which I was going to get from someone off here but they have stopped replying to emails now. Is there anyone else who can help me get hold of what I need to finish my laser off?

Lazeerer only sells the Heatsink for the host I think. You'll have to buy the host on deals-extreme of somewhere else.

You also still need a lens.
Please Note this module comes with an acrylic lens in it to keep dust out. It can not handle the power this unit can put out. It will keep contaminates out of the module until you are ready to put yours glass lens in. Replace with your glass lens of choice before powering the module. The best options are the Aixiz 405/445 Glass Lens or the 405 G-1 Lens. If you need a lens with the unit I do offer this unit in a combo with a three element or with the G-2. See my other listings.

The lens I have is glass but the carrier of the lens is plastic. Does this need to be metal?

But going back to my original question, do you know where I can get the booster and heat sync?

Hello rich

Welcome to the forums- can you please make a thread in the 'welcome' section and tell us a little about yourself- for an idea of a good intro thread just read some of those from other members in the 'Welcome' section.

I have not read all your posts but if someone has not given this advice i will now- the lens for any highpower build NEEDS to be in a metal lens nut and made of glass- the plastic lenses and melt and ruin your diode-

-also if you use any teflon tape with your lens take GREAT care to use as little as possible and make sure that no tiny bits end up inside- telfon can also melt and cause you problems--keep in mind the heat issues and never run that laser for more than 3 min without out a 'rest' to allow it to cool down(called duty/rest cycling)- running too lng may not do instant damage but MAY shorten the lifespan of your laser--enjoy our forum--Len In TEXAS

watch for a foggy night and try lots of different settings- try a tripod for the camera - turn the flash off and move the laser while the pic is being taken or do the the reverse by moving the camera up and down or in a circle-- like these..
