Default Where to buy the button switches used in laser

Howdy-

Does anyone know where I can get the button switch with metal cap as used in laser pointers? *I'm building my own laser pointer and would like to use one of these switches. *The switches themselves are easy to find but I cannot find any with the nice dome type metal cap.

Thanks mucho!

Just get one out of an LED pointer.

Can't get much cheaper than that!

Also, this isn't really reccomended for a host that's not a leadlight... Project boxes should use a toggle switch or something similar. It would be pretty akward to have to puch a tiny metal button on the side... And with LED flashlight hosts, well, they already have a flatboard & switch! I don't know what you could possibly need one for, because if you were using a leadlight host, there is obviously already a switch in there...

Hi-

Thanks for the good idea. I have two problems with the DE parts- 1. The switches stick out too far from the tube they are mounted in. I like to have only the dome of the switch stick out beyond the body tube. 2. I'm sure the switches will fall apart after some use. For the price- what can you expect.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks,

Kirk

Get a switch from whatever electronic device you choose, and cut a piece of rubber in the shape of a bowler hat.

Mission complete.
