I'm going to measure the current of my 40mw green labby in my RGY, it seems to be kinda unstable. What kind of current would you expect, MAX for a 40mw labby to need?

Not as much as 500mA, my 35mW labby thats doing closer to 6-70mW only pulls 422mA at 6V.

Which means I can use a 6V 500mA 3VA lead acid battery charger to power it , right ?

He did say max. Postulating poor crystals, this is entirely in the realm of possibilities.

To charge a 6v battery, one needs more than 6v.

It really depends on the pump diode. At 40mW it could use a 200mW 5.6mm pump or it could use a 500mW 9mm pump, each would draw different currents. If it is a 500mW diode It could be drawing a little under an amp, maybe 700mA~800mA (just a guess)

I know that, but it says the charger outputs 6V
