What kind of laser do I need?

Laser shows ae cool, burning tape and cd cases will get old. I have something else in mind... Multi-kilowatt pulses. I need a laser of the highest quality as far as frequency stability is concerned. Can anyone tell me more about frequency stability and yes I would like it to be a single mode.

What do kilowatt pulses have to do with laser shows?

Let me get this straight. You don't know much about frequency stability, but you want it badly?

With respect, I don't see a 'Multi-KiloWatt' laser show getting old. Expensive,, and likely to get some a free vacation behind bars, maybe, but it won't be around long enought to get old, I think. Would be interresting to behold,, from the bunker.

Nothing. I should have left that comment out, it just seemed to confuse people as to what I was asking. I am thinking of constructive phasing of pulsed laser energy utilizing what I call an optical capacitor and a piezoelectric first surface mirror for phasing corrections. I am assuming cheap lasers have all kinds of purity and frequency stability issues that will be counter productive to my goal.

What you're describing is a Q-switch, and it has no place in laser shows.

What IS your goal? You're just throwing random thoughts at us with no continuity.

No shows in mind. What I am trying to work out is adding laser light out side the lasing medium to an existing beam but do it in phase so the power builds up. The q-switch method only gives a finite amount. From what I know about other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, this build up of power should be possible as long as i do it in phase. That's why the question about what type of laser has the best frequency stability. If the drift isn't to bad there should be some constructive building of power as long as the phase isn't more than 90 degrees out. I am learning more as I search the internet but I thought some one out there may already know the answers I seek. This is only one step in what I am trying to do... Multi-Mega watt pulses from low power lasers.

Maybe I am being too simplistic in my thinking and for reasons I don't understand this is not possible, but isn't this what happens in holography, I mean the constructive and destructive addition of laser light sources. Maybe this is the flaw in my thinking.

Be well and may your beam shine brightly!
