Default What does Duty Cycle means?

I have searched on Google what exactly does Duty Cycle means? Obviously I am a beginner for a burning laser. I recently purchased burning laser from Lazerers

250mW 650nm Burning Red Laser Module w/ Battery Case

And I've read down below that said..

"strictly follow the duty cycle to prevent the laser from demaging."

"Recommended Duty Cycle: 45 seconds on, 30 seconds off"

What does it means and what should I do with the Duty Cycle?

It means you shouldn't use the laser more than 45 seconds continuously, to prevent overheating. 45/30 means after 45 seconds of being on, turn it off and let it cool down for 30 seconds.

It is obviously clear what Duty Cycle means... especially if
you really did a Google Search...

Thanks everybody. I read some topic about Lazerer store. Do you think they are a good service and ship very fast? I sent them a question about shipping tracking two days ago and I haven't heard from them yet.

A lot of members have bought from Lazerer and are very happy
with their purchases.
I bought a 1Watt laser from Max (lazerer) and it was LPMed at
just over 1 Watt.
Max must be very busy at this time processing the holiday orders...

If you live in the US, I would recommend Survival Laser, they are based out of Cedar City, UT and sell quality parts. You just need to assemble the laser yourself, which is extremely simple.

QFT. If you're looking for a blue or red laser I also highly recommend survival laser.
