what do I need?

what do i need? IM a newbe. I am working on an invention. and i need to project a continuous beam a short distance during daylight outside and be portable and small cylinder shape if possible. green? and hopefully under 20 bucks.Im not ever sure a laser is the right way to go. some advice please. this site seems exactly what i need to not spend hours researching. thanks

You're looking for a visible beam in daylight? Direct sunlight? Not going to be small or cheap, sorry.
