I love lasers and I am a natural-born tinkerer. Ask my dad-I took his .45Cal Colt and his watches when I was 5. But, my passions led me into the biological sciences; Specifically botany and biotechnology. And, it's been a very long time since I've been in college.

So, my weakness has always been the higher level maths and schematic reading, and I've always wanted to better my skills in electronics ans actually understand everything involved.

I went to MIT's OpenCourse program to look into their introductions to electronics. It's amazing what they have to offer!

Well, I found the course, and when I got into the prerequisites, my heart sank a little....Differential Equations?? Well, ok...it's been a while, but I can do that too.

Differential Equations prerequisites?? Trigonometry!?! Sh!t!

So, now, I find myself taking mathematics courses I should have taken long ago. (Stupid Liberal Arts education!)

All this, and much more to go, just so I can learn something (to my satisfaction) about the hobby I love.

Well, I guess I better not waste it. I suppose I could get a better job out of it when I'm done.

Thanks for listening, metaphorically.

You should be fine man! Why not just get an outlook on all the mathematical related stuff your gonna be studying and or need to know for the course and look up some youtube videos and to some self educating that way. Best of luck with your course!

Well, I did think about taking the easy way out. But, my daughter is already doing advanced mathematics, and I want to catch up to her level and actually know all this stuff I never learned in the first place.
