Every host DTR uses isn't 'exotic' I know he's done MDXL stuff.. I just sent him some modified aixiz modules for some of those actually. And he's done a build using one of my sipik hosts before too. Like I said, there's probably not a host around that DTR hasn't built a laser with. I think the 'flashy' stuff is just the stuff that floats to the top, so to speak. heh.

There's a lot of great builders on the forum and some builds are more common and some not so much. For each build there are also a lot of variations. Just becuase a host has been done in one way doesnt mean thats way it should and always will be done of course with the exceptions of the necessary components to complete a build ;)

Well, it looks like you have been around longer here and have probably seen more Eghemus threads go into the dustbin pages, where there are probably hundreds of hosts I haven't seen. And I am sure that some new hosts will come out that will change opinions stated here.

That being said, it almost sounds like you have some hosts you want recognized. Shoot me some links, I always like to see them.

Eh, the only hosts I offer really atm are my sipik based ones. I'll have some trustfire ef23's and MDXL 1xAAA and 2xAAA hosts i'll be offering when things get settled but I wouldn't call them 'flashy', they're all just AAA pen hosts that will be offered cheap for 'relatively' low power builds. And i'm certainly far from the first to do builds with them.

New hosts and new builds will go as far as the builder is willing to go. IMO it has a lot to do with the creativity and the solutions to overcome build problems that makes a great build and a good host.

I've thought about building one of those.. just for SnG's but yeah, the cost of the host kind of puts me off of it.

It just needs to be cheaper! :(

If anyone can find a three-headed flashlight for cheaper than that, they have no choice but to post it here.
