i got my DX ultrafire 20mW today. put the battery in and turned it on. It worked for about a minute. I got one picture with my camera and the nothing... The laser mad no noises or buzzing, it just stopped. I took the battery out and the inner spring fell out. Does anyone know what i can do here? I hope to GOD its not its not anything permanent like the diode burning out. HELP MEEE

here is the picture that i took. about 10 seconds after i took it,....no more laser. :'(

Take it appart and try to solder the spring back? :-/

That also happened to my completely FUBAR 30mw ultrafire. Solder the spring back in and hope it works. These lasers are usually easy to take apart and access the inner driver board. Solder the spring back on and it should work.

No!!! Don't do anything yet. Put the pictures of the spring and anything that comes out easy. Then show us a picture of the casing.

Ahhh, the wonderful world of DX, where pure lead is solder and paste has been outlawed.

do you know how to take it apart? because i can only take this part off, the other one gets stuck after screwing it all the way.

The module itself should come out of the head. It might take a bit of force so be careful when you do it.

Usually this happens when there is a cold solder joint holding the spring in place and there is no bonding whatsoever.[/quote]

Does the copper module itself screw or slide out of the surrounding aluminum?

well i tried with just my hands and nothing happened when i tried to unscrew it. but i havent tried to pull it out yet. what kind of tool should i use? but do you mean this?

The aluminum sink has to come out. Now ive never disassembled one of those, but have many, many similr ones. If you have vice grips, wrap a thick piece of paper around it and try to unscrew it. If this doesnt work, it may be glued in. I just stripped the new DX focusable 50mW, and if its glued like mine was, its going to be a battle.

The silver piece (all together) If you try removing the brass on its own, risk of damage is increased.
