As a few of my close friends at the forum here know, I have been going 90+ hours a week for nearly two months now, slaving to get my own auto repair shop up and running smoothly. I was laid of several months ago after years in dealerships as a Master tech for several car lines.
I have gotten angry emails saying I have been logging on daily to the forum, but not replying to the tens upon tens of PM's in my inbox. Let me clarify, I do not have time to come on the forum. My fiance uses my laptop, which happens to have LPF set as the home page.
The stickies are still up for the Guidesman kits, but PLEASE people have patients. I am becoming overwhelmed with questions "where is my package" three to five days after the item was paid. I DO NOT have these sitting around pre made. From now on I will simply refund your order if you jump the gun after I have gone public with this "public service announcement." Please realize you are not the only one who has ordered from me, and there are people ahead of you patiently waiting.
I have friends here who have waited a month or more for their order, and for that I feel bad, and apologize. These people also happen to be very mature and understanding. When you get older, you realize time is not always of the essence, and part of becoming older is learning to have patience. If this is something that you do not yet posses, please message me and I will refund your order.

Sorry if I have let anyone down, however my family and financial security will always come before a hobbyist laser forum. I have made several great friends here. Not to name names, one of the members here is the REASON my business has a website. I wish there was a meaningful way to repay you, bud.

For now, farewell. I will try to pop in from time to time..

This happened to me a 9 months back.
a bit different but the effects were the same.
Wish you the best of luck.
If you ever want a car to work on i got a 92 ford probe that could use a new trans and brakes.

We are staying busy, considering the fact we are the "new guys in town". If you were closer, I would say lets set you up with an appointment.

Well, good luck with the business then :D Seeing your expertise on a lathe, I am sure your business in auto repairs will go better than you expect!

Work hard, and hopefully we will see you around here more often sooner rather than later.

Ain't that the truth.... and it is not always the younger or new members but most times it is.
Especially the ones who have an issue with something-contact the seller-cant wait- then take it upon themselves to 'fix' the problem w/o giving the seller any time to help and lack the skillz to do that- thus making things much worse and creating a lot of totally un-needed drama. Not everybody trying to do things here is a Jake21 or a TylerDAoO. Best luck to you.. len

OOPs I thought GG was referring to running your own laser show--my bad.

and yes TJ I do run my own laser show-I have a DYI projector almost done and I have spaghetti software- so na na na! ALSO I dont drink or do drugs!!

I learned some of what I posted at the Casey Stack lasershow safety class--so give it a rest big guy- just let it go--ok?

I hear that- a lot of people do not realize that most lasershow operators need to have a lot of back up equipment for the unseen times when there is a failure- Contracts get broken and people do not get paid- and that really sucks!! and then you have to deal with the lawyers of peope who 'claim' there got eye injuries at your show- this has made some operators to acquire vid-cams to video the entire audience for the enitre show in the event that later they need to prove that thier lasers did not shine into the audience.

One lawsuit can take a biz down-- even if you are not at fault.

^^^ things to remember when you think the price of admission to a laser show is too high.

WTF does that have to do with his car business? You dont even do laser shows Len. I think you've been listening to those PL guys too much. You sound like a parrot repeating their gripes with the biz. In any event it doesnt have anything to do with this thread. Lay off the sauce bro.

that was a reference to running your own business.
like if your replacing a car windsheild always find 2!
i had one delivered for my probe and they brought it and it was perfect just as they were unloading it of the truck the wind blew and it hit something and made a nice crack in it.
Boy did they look dumb... i stood there and they said it would be another 2 weeks before they could get me another.
i laughed and said nah i got another guy coming.
They were pissed.

I will try to stay in touch with you all. I didn't want to go public and cause any worry amongst the community. However today I received a PP dispute for a charge back on a Guidesman kit from a member here with three posts. He placed the order the 3rd of Sept, and lives outside of the country in New Zealand. I thought that was kind of funny. Anyway, not to be a jack hole, but I am refunding him the money and not going to ship him an order. I'll be planing on seeing another thread "seller refusing to sell" pop up! I don't need the pressure form these kids with no patience. This community has been a hobby, not a business. I have made several great friends who I personally speak to from time to time. I can not say that about any other forum which I belong to.

Sad to see you go Ray :(

You've made some of the coolest heatsinks, hands down, that I've ever seen on here.

I thought we were talking about Ray's business.

You know I love you Len. :p

Good luck Ray, and all the best. We'll still be here if you want to come back and visit.

I'm sad to see you go, but I'm happy for you in that you are venturing in your own business. I'm pretty sure this will be a life-changing experience for you and those who surround you.

I wish you nothing but the best! And some chocolate cereal, too!!

CEREAL! I'm not LEAVING you my friends. I will always be here, but like as of lately just not as frequently. And if you would like to continue ordering my kits, or requesting custom work that is fine. Just expect a lead time. Just ask RHD! He is the most patient person I have dealt with here, and I feel bad. He had custom work sent to me in the mail, and just before its arrival I became involved in starting this business venture. My apologies, again Roh for the delay.
