Re: Weird POV effect with 589nm.

I bought two 15 watt 808nm FAC corrected C-Mount laser diodes too, he talked about some FAC corrected 10W C-Mounts he tried to use on his project and found them unsuitable, guess I won't be using those.

Fibre is the way to go for end pumping at those sorts of powers, at least if you want decent beam quality out. You could use a ton of optics to correct the output of a MM diode, but it's easier just to go fibre (And the results will likely be better).

You could run practically uncorrected too, but again, output beam quality and stability is going to suffer.

Maybe a FAP 800?

Re: Weird POV effect with 589nm.

Remember that the Fap 800's were taken out of Coherent DPSS systems.

Re: Weird POV effect with 589nm.

I didn't know the FAP800 units were used for DPSS, thank you, good news.

Re: Weird POV effect with 589nm.

Coherent Verdi and Avia I believe.

I know that the high end Verdi's used multiple Fap-I's which contained fap-800's. It is where mine got salvaged from.
