Ok, here is what I am thinking now...
(disclaimer: I know I probably have not done nearly enough searching around these forums, so please don't flame me if I am way off base. I have done some. =)

I currently have this laser:
http://http://lazerer.com/red-laser/650nm-laser-pointers/lzcs-classic-650nm-200mw-focusable-red-laser-pointer

I'm thinking about buying this diode:
808nm 300mW 10 6mm High Power Burning IR Infrared Laser Diode Module 3 Pins Lab | eBay

And soldering it to this driver:
2 pack Red laser/808nm laser diode driver 80-500mA w/TTL [OLDD20] - $5.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
(or something like it)
Will the driver from the current 650nm 3.7v be overdriving the IR diode if I just desolder it and put the new diode in it's place???

Then just soldering the diode and an appropriate driver together and dropping them in lazerer host.
What are y'all thinking, will this work with these components?
