What happens to laser energy that reflects off of the metal surfaces? o_O

^^ I should imagine it would be dispersed / diffused and dissipate harmlessly , unless your very close to it.

But yeah the reflective underbelly would work wouldn't it? even if the laser is in the multi- kilowatt range?.

Or , use reinforced carbon-carbon tiles , the same as the space shuttle re entry protection system.

What about corner reflector ? That could at least mess with target tracking, and maybe even damage the laser.
