When I was experimenting with my lasers I found a neat little trick to keep my lens protected. All you need is a finger condom, aka finger cot/finger protector. These work great for keeping dirt and other unwanted things from going into your lasers lens! If the laser is too big and the finger cot cannot be stretched over the laser, you can simply use one of those small bags that come when you buy small things off the internet. I hope this helps! Thanks for viewing.

of course my friend, the whole purpose why people invented condom are for protection, create a barrier to prevent nasty stuff from getting through, and keep whatever it is covering cleans........

I don't usually use anything to cover lens, I just clean them once a week with a brush.

Thanks,

oh neat I never heard of these finger cots. This would also help when working with disassembling tablets and phones or any project you want to refrain from spreading finger oils without putting on entire gloves.
The gloves are ok but the powder irritates the skin and hands get sweaty.

I use those green silicone rubber lens caps that Survival Laser sells for $0.49 each but they won't fit all lasers, they fit the standard AixiZ type of focus rings or the extended ones that Survival Lasers sells. It is a good idea to protect your lens with something, plenty of people have ruined a lens by getting dust or something on the lens and it gets burned on and then can't be cleaned.
