I started looking into doing laser shows perhaps 20 years ago. I acquired a HeCd 442nm laser that had a giant power supply, it was two piece industrial unit, a meterologic HeNe (still have that in the basement) and an Argon. I also picked up some cambridge technologies closed loop galvos and a power supply board.

never got past that because I could never come up with the $$ for a PCAOM and pangolin/controller card. back then many were using free software on the amiga as well. I still have everything but the argon and HeCd, but I'm sure it's all obsolete junk now.

I always wanted to do laser light shows and stumbled upon this site last night and am looking forward to reading up on what's available today and seeing how far the tech has come and that the barrier to entry pricing has come down so much. Hard to imagine I have a green laser pointer today that's as powerful as stuff that took up a table top a couple of decades back, but I guess you can say that about most tech.

Thanks for this site and I'm looking forward to diving in!
