We need several DFW area members to host a mini LEM the weekend of Aug 24th.

i will be there on my way home from SELEM and will have sound -lasers-PJs and fogger- all we need is a place to do this!! it needs to be indoors-located where we will not bother the neighbors and AC if possible-IF we need to pay to Play we all can chip in,, We could lay the groundwork for future DFW-LEMs

Things are looking better for a TEXLEM II in 2014-near Houston and before it gets so damn hot- How many would come if the LEM was held superbowl weekend??

I ask,Only, because its one time that very few venues are taken--we can still watch the game and do some more laser shows after-i am pushing for this to START Thursday and not end until Monday- same amount of work but more time to enjoy--

informal TEXLEM meeting noonish on Oct 17th in Angleton at the Brazoria County Fair and cook-off.

FREE beer from noon til midnight =FREE Gumbo feast 7 to 9PM-all free- come early if you like to walk around at Fairs..

The cook-off teams are all in campers towards the back 1/4th of the grassy parking Lot you can see us thru the fence- once inside ask any cooker how to find The PitMeisters!! - they love us or hate us but that all sure as hell know us.


Last year our brisket took first place out of more than 140 samples WOOT!!

Come back on Sat. the 19th to try ours and watch us get ALL the trophies!!

I was holding off until I could verify it, but I definitely have a conflict preventing my attendance the weekend of Oct 17/18. I'm really bummed I can't make this shindig... sounds like an awesome time!

Short notice POP-UP Mini LEM- DEC 6/7 Austin.

ATM we are not sure where in Austin this will happen.

KGB will be in Austin for 'SnowGlow' on friday -show starts at 9PM.
This event is a Neon Paint Party- KGB has been doing these events in 5 states.
IIRC KGB brings 4000W of black light- over head laser beam show-and scantily clad ladies will be painting those within range- they say to wear old clothes- and white may be the best-Goggles -to protect the eyes form paint- a good photo op- but consider some way to keep your cameras paint-free.
I will have a few extra white kevlar Paper Haz-mat suits.

FOLLOW-UP AustinLEM(mini)

Dispite foul (for austin) weather our 'gathering' was a big success and we all enjoyed it.

It started Friday after noon at "Republic Live" where Rod - George andf I got to see KGB setting up for that nights show= "SnowGlow Neon Paint Party" very cool --

Agent C (Casey) had other plans so he and his friends were not there- maor about thids gig and pics to follow from both Rod and I-links will get posted here.

Sat. we meet up with Casey and his 'second' home in Austin -and his friend Scott was very kidn to allow us to use his Dome Home- wow- idea place for a LEM(mini).

I took a lot away from this experience
But thne best was knowing that Austin (or nearby) is an excellent area for a bigger well planned AustinLEM.

The Location of Austin is super as its located near the center of Texas- so those from DWF and Houston are within driving distance easy.
I see no reason why Texas could be a state where 4 or 5 LEMs per year could be held-

That way most will be able to attend one or more-
One in each of these cities
Houston
San Antonio ( where TEXLEM I was held-big success!)
Austin
and DFW
(ACTUALLY the beat place for each would be close but NOT in these cities;

KGB does Fri & sat gigs in all these cities- so we WILL be planning to hold theses Texas Lems when KGB is in town- this way one night we all will go as a group and see the excellent show put on by Brooks's crew-- search and you will find good vids and pics.

but it was REALLY cold up there--

There will be more happening in Austin- more likely in the spring
AND for sure on a weekend when KGB will have a gig there-

its nice to see how the pros do their setting up.

We found later that the crew was short one or two hands and we cold have helped and make some $$ if we were willing to also stay later to break down and load out (like $100).Wish they had asked me--

There is a chance if the LEM is small to go back to Scotts DOMEHOME- just like a mini Planeterium all white walls and ceiling- just smaller--we also need to find affordable lodging--
We all agreed that any LEM in Texas will be a good one and working towards date when KGB will be in town is a no-brainer. AND KGB is in town in all five of the big TX cities.
The people at the club(Republic Live) treated us like VIPs- and the show was awesome too.

So next TEX LEM will happen- join LSLF to keep in the loop by subscrobing to the group-- as you will ONlY get a email about something new that way.

I was extremely impressed by 'Agent C' Casey- he demoed his analog DIY 660mW PJ and showed us his progress so far with his own lasershow software- he was able to run it wirelessly with his tablet with touch screen- Casey also got Scott to agree for us to use his Domehouse-- very nice place especially for laser projectors.BIG TY to all - Rodman put me up and took very good care of me- he turned me on to his fav Texas BBQ Smoke House and when we do another LEM is Austin we all will go there for dinner.. TASTY!!
